# Cat litter that doesn't track

Source: HiveTried, https://hivetried.com/pets/cat-litter/doesnt-track/
Category: Pets > Cat litter. Updated 2026-10-08. Based on 274 counted first-hand reports from Target shopper reviews, May 2018 to Sep 2026.

**Question:** Which cat litter stays in the box?

**Short answer:** Arm & Hammer Slide Easy Clean-Up Litter has the best record for staying in the box: 13 of 15 owners said it tracked little, though that's a small group. Fresh Step Odor Shield Multi-Cat Litter is next at 11 of 18. Owners mostly write about tracking when litter ends up all over the floor, so low shares are common on this page.

**What stands out:** The low records aren't all noise. More owners weighed in on Tidy Cats 24/7 Performance Litter than on any other litter here, and 62 of 70 said it got tracked around the house, the weakest record on the page.

Ranked by the lower bound of a 90% Wilson confidence interval, so a product needs a high share and enough reports to rank high. An Amazon link is shown only when at least 60% say it works.

## Questions

**Which cat litter doesn't track?**

Arm & Hammer Slide Easy Clean-Up Litter has the best record (13 of 15), though from a small group. Fresh Step Odor Shield Multi-Cat Litter comes next at 11 of 18.

**Does crystal litter track less?**

Not clearly. Fresh Step Crystals Premium Cat Litter, the crystal litter here, splits owners at 19 of 37, behind two clumping litters.

**Does World's Best Multiple Cat Formula track?**

Owners say it often does: 13 of 35 said it stayed in the box, and World's Best Clumping Formula does a bit worse at 7 of 22.

**How can I cut down on litter tracking?**

Start with the litter, since owners on this page report big differences between brands. A litter mat by the box catches what sticks to paws, and a box with higher sides keeps kicked litter in.
