Dehumidifiers that actually remove moisture

Waykar 80-150 Pint Auto-Swing Dehumidifier has the best record for drying out a space: 65 of 65 shoppers said it pulled plenty of water. Waykar 30-150 Pint Dehumidifier is close behind at 26 of 27, then TCL 25-Pint Smart Dehumidifier at 29 of 32. The two small Pure Enrichment units trail at 27 of 34 and 22 of 28, and a small unit can't match a compressor model for water pulled.

Updated . How we count

Did the room feel drier? What shoppers said

Share of shoppers who stated an outcome for dampness. Ranked by the lower bound of a 90% confidence interval, so a product needs both a good share and enough reports to rank high.

What stands out

Units that quit are the complaint to watch: 33% of PureDry Deluxe reviews, 21% of TCL reviews and 18% of Auto-Swing Waykar reviews say the unit stopped working.

Where these numbers come from

The 5 products ranked here carry 995 reviews at Target. We read the newest reviews of each product (up to a thousand per listing), kept the ones that talk about dampness, and counted up to 40 per product, posted between Feb 2018 and Sep 2026.

A review counts only when the reviewer used the product themselves. We drop reviews written in exchange for a free product or a sweepstakes entry (1 on this page), and products that are no longer sold.

Target also shows reviews first posted on brands' own websites. We show them on product cards but never count them, because brand-site reviews run more positive than store reviews of the same products.

Because we searched for the problem, people who had it are overrepresented. Compare products with each other rather than reading a share as your own odds.

We count what shoppers report. Nothing here is safety advice: use heaters, fans and other appliances as the maker's manual says.

Amazon buttons appear only on products that most shoppers here say fix the problem (at least 60%, with enough reviews to trust it). Everything else gets no buy link.

An AI model labels each review against a fixed list of points, and we spot-check the labels before publishing. We publish counts, never the reviews themselves.

Questions buyers ask

Which dehumidifier actually dries out a room?

Waykar 80-150 Pint Auto-Swing Dehumidifier has the best record (65 of 65), followed by Waykar 30-150 Pint Dehumidifier (26 of 27) and TCL 25-Pint Smart Dehumidifier (29 of 32). All three are compressor units.

Do mini dehumidifiers work?

In a small space, they can. Pure Enrichment rates its Mini at about a cup and a quarter of water a day, while compressor units are rated in pints per day. Use a mini for a closet, bathroom or small bedroom, not a damp basement.

How big a dehumidifier do I need?

Match the pints-per-day rating and the square footage on the box to your space, and size up for a very damp basement. If you'd rather not empty a bucket, look for a continuous drain hose.

HiveTried earns a commission when you buy through the "See price & reviews on Amazon" buttons. It never changes the ranking: the order comes from buyer reports only, and a product gets an Amazon button only when buyers here say it works.
