What we collect
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits: which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from (country, referring site) and what kind of device they use. Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell a returning visitor from a new one. It does not store IP addresses. We don't use it for advertising and don't link it to any other data.
You can block it with any tracker blocker, or with Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Our host, Cloudflare, also keeps standard server logs and aggregate traffic counts to run and protect the site. Fonts are served from our own domain.
When you click to Amazon
"Check price on Amazon" buttons link straight to Amazon. We don't record the click ourselves. Once you are on Amazon, Amazon's own privacy notice and cookies apply.
Reddit and store review data
Rankings are built from public Reddit comments or public shopper reviews at Ulta and Sephora. We store counts and labels, not usernames, and we never publish the text of anyone's comment or review. Each ranking links to the original public threads or product pages.
